Variant Functions
The Variant Functions feature lets merchants link different template previews to different product variants, so that each variant (for example, each color) displays the appropriate preview to customers. There are two approaches
Option 1: Change preview
Use this when each variant requires a different preview image.
With this approach, you create separate previews in the template, one for each variant (e.g., three previews for three colors). Each preview has its own product mockup and design positioning.
To set it up:
- In the template, create the separate previews you need.

- After creating the campaign, scroll down to the Variant Functions section and expand the color variant you want to configure.

- Click Add, select Change preview from the dropdown, then click Select preview and choose the matching preview for that variant.

Option 2: Change product image
Use this when the print file position stays the same across variants, and only the product image (mockup) changes, for example, the same design placement on a white, blue, or pink shirt.
With this approach, you only need one preview in the template. In the General tab of that preview, add multiple product images, one per variant.

In the campaign, this appears as a single preview, but with a count badge in the corner showing the number of product images it contains.

In the campaign's Variant Functions section, expand the color variant and click Add. Select Change product image from the dropdown, then choose the product image (e.g., the matching shirt color) for that variant.

Which option to use
Choose Change preview when variants need completely different previews. Choose Change product image when only the product mockup changes and the design stays in the same position, it's lighter to set up since you only manage one preview.
