Group Option Sets
Group Option Sets is a feature in Customix Product Personalizer that helps you manage options that visually change together across different parent selections. It ensures that when a customer switches a main option (like color), other related design components (like layers or item parts) automatically update while keeping their corresponding value.
Group Option Sets is perfect when your design has multiple layers or parts that change depending on another parent option. For instance:
Your product includes multiple body parts (e.g., upper and lower clothing parts)
Each body part has a separate image set per color
You want customers to keep their selected style when they switch colors
Without grouping, when a customer changes a color (parent), their selection of "Upper Part" or "Lower Part" would reset. With Group Option Sets, Customix ensures the chosen value is retained across parent values.
Let’s say you offer a dress design with two components: Upper Part and Lower Part, and multiple color options like green, red, and black. Each color has its own corresponding set of upper and lower part layers.
To keep the selected design consistent when changing dress color:
Group all upper part layers into one group (e.g., Upper Group)
Group all lower part layers into another group (e.g., Lower Group)
The system will automatically recognize the order of these files in each group as the index. For example, the first option in the list will be treated as index 1, the second as index 2, and so on.
This ensures when customers change the dress color, the selected design (sleeveless top + long skirt) remains the same.

Go to your Option Set and select the option layer you want to group.

Scroll to the Group section and click Add group to choose layers.

Add all related layers that serve the same function (e.g., all upper part layers for different colors) and click "Save"

The system will use the order in which the options appear as the index automatically. No manual indexing is required.
Repeat the process for other design groups (e.g., Lower Part).
The system automatically detects the index based on the position of each item in the group (from top to bottom).
To maintain consistency, ensure the order of options is aligned across all grouped sets.
You can preview your grouped behavior in the Preview tab to make sure the switch is smooth.
With Group Option Sets, you can create seamless and intuitive personalization experiences without requiring customers to reset their selections whenever they change the main design options.
