Photo Upload Customization

Photo Upload Personalization allows your customers to upload their own images. It's perfect for personalized gifts, custom posters, pet portraits, and more. This guide walks you through how to set it up in your template.

1. Add an Image Layer

To begin:
Go to your template and click on the Image tab from the left sidebar.
Select an existing image or upload one.
Click on the image to place it on your canvas.
You can resize, reposition, or rotate the image freely. Use this image as the placeholder that will be replaced by your customer’s upload.

2. Enable Image Personalization

Once your image is placed:
Select the image layer either from the canvas or the Layers list on the left.
On the right-side panel, go to the Personalization tab.
Check the box Personalize upload image.
This turns your static image into an upload field on the storefront.

3. Customize the Upload Settings

Once personalization is enabled, you’ll see additional fields:
Label: Name the field your customers will see (e.g., “Upload your photo”).
Min image width / height (optional): Set size limits for customer uploads to ensure print quality.
Required: Toggle this if the customer must upload a photo before adding to cart.

**4. Optional: Add Mask Shapes**

To create unique effects or constrain image shape:
In the Content tab, scroll to the Mask section.
Choose from predefined shapes (circle, heart, star, etc.).
Or click Upload Custom to add your own SVG mask for precise control.

5. Apply Filters and Effects (Optional)

While Customix doesn't currently provide built-in AI photo editing, you can still offer advanced effects to customers by integrating with external services like Cutout.pro or Segmind.
To enable effects:
In the Content tab, under the Filters & Effects section, you’ll see options like:
Remove background
Face cutout
Face cartoonized
Cartoonized
Face swap
These options require:
An active account with the respective third-party service.
API key connection set up via your Customix backend or admin settings.
Note: If no external service is connected, these options will not function. Make sure you’ve linked your account and have sufficient credits or access permissions.
