The Crossword Effect in Customix allows you to transform customer-input text into a crossword-style layout, where each character is displayed inside a styled tile.

This feature is perfect for pillows, posters, and gifts where you want to display names, words, or initials in a fun crossword/grid format.

1. Add a Crossword Element

• Go to Templates → open your template.
• In the left toolbar, click Elements.
• Select the Crossword icon (the grid icon).
• A default crossword layout will appear on your canvas.

2. Configure the Crossword Content

In the right-side panel → Content:

• Words:

Enter the text you want to display.

Each word should be separated by a space.

• Max item size:

Controls the maximum size of each tile.

• Show score (Optional):

Displays Scrabble-style letter scores in the corner of each tile.

3. Customize the Tile Background

Under Item background:

• Color: Choose a solid color for all tiles.
• Pattern: Upload or choose a pattern for tile backgrounds (optional).

4. Personalization Settings

Under Personalization, you can enable:

• Personalize text: Allows customers to enter their own words.
• Personalize font: Allows customers to change font style.
• Personalize with background swatch: Lets customers choose tile background colors from your palette.

Any personalization enabled here will appear as custom options on the product page.
