Product bases in Customix are pre-configured product blueprints used to create customizable items - especially when you’re starting from scratch or working with a print-on-demand provider.

They help define how the product is displayed, printed, and fulfilled before any design is added.

What Is a Product Base?

A product base includes the technical and visual details required to build a customizable product. This includes:

• Print area dimensions
• Product mockups
• Variant size and positioning
• Fulfillment settings

It serves as a starting point for building new products without needing to pre-create them in Shopify.

How to Use Product Bases

You can access the Product Bases section from the left-hand menu in Customix. Here, merchants have two options:

• Add Manually: Create your own base product with custom print specs, variants, and mockups.
• Import from Vendor: Quickly pull product data from third-party providers like Printful, Printify, or Prodigi with one click.
