Asset Thumbnails

Asset thumbnails help merchants quickly identify images and folders inside the Assets library. Customix automatically generates thumbnails to make asset management faster and more intuitive.

Automatic Thumbnail Cropping

When you upload an image to Customix, the system will now automatically remove empty space and focus on the main object to generate the thumbnail.

This means:

  • Transparent margins are removed
  • The thumbnail is centered on the visible object
  • Assets are easier to recognize in folders and lists

This behavior applies to all supported image formats.

Setting a Thumbnail for a Folder (ZIP Upload)

When uploading a ZIP file, you can now automatically assign a thumbnail to a folder.

Specifically, if a ZIP file contains an image named+++.png (or any supported image format)

Customix will:

  • Use that file as the thumbnail for the entire folder
  • Automatically remove the +++ file after upload
  • Keep only the remaining assets inside the folder

+++ file will be used for the thumbnail of "Black" folder

Color Thumbnail Generating

When enabled, Customix automatically detects the dominant color of an asset and uses it as the thumbnail.

This is useful for displaying color-based assets such as color swatches or background options.

Notes

  • Original image thumbnails are the default, you only need to edit if you want to change them.
  • Thumbnails directly affect what customers see on the frontend option selector after you sync campaigns.
  • Generate color thumbnails works for image files only.
