How to Set Up Image Shape Mask for Customer Uploads

Customix enables you to create personalized products where customer-uploaded images are seamlessly integrated into custom shapes. This feature helps you control how uploaded images appear in your design.

What It Does

When customers upload their photo, it will be automatically cropped into the shape you set, showing only the visible (non-transparent) area of the shape. This ensures cleaner, more consistent designs on your product templates.

How to Set It Up

Step 1: Create a Template

  • Start by creating your product template from the Templates section.
  • Add other elements (like text, options, etc.) to complete your design layout.

Step 2: Add a Sample Image Layer

  • Click the Image tool and add a sample photo layer to your canvas.
  • This will serve as the placeholder for customer-uploaded photos.

Add image layer

Step 3: Apply Shape Mask

  • With the image layer selected, go to the right-hand settings panel.
  • Under the Mask section, click Upload Custom.
  • Upload your desired shape image.

Important:

  • The black part of the image (non-transparent area) defines the display zone.
  • Any area outside the black shape will not appear when a customer uploads an image.

Step 4: Enable Personalization

  • On the right panel, go to the Personalization tab.
  • Check "Personalize upload image" and optionally set a label, min size, or required flag.

Step 5: Save the Template

  • Click Save to finalize your template settings.

Final Step: Link Template to Product

Once the design is ready:

  • Go to the Campaign section
  • Link this template to a product from Product Base or a Shopify Product.

Now customers can upload their own image, and it will automatically fit into your custom shape.
